Data Pass Terms and Conditions
Effective: August 6, 2025
In addition to the TextNow Terms of Use, these supplemental Data Pass Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Data Pass Terms”) apply to a User’s purchase and use of the data allowance passes offered by TextNow (each a “Data Pass”, and collectively the “Data Passes”). Each Data Pass is a flexible data plan, which may be used to access the internet, subject to the limitations outlined below. Capitalized but undefined terms used herein have the meanings assigned to those terms in the Terms of Use.
1. Data Pass Terms for New Users:
The Data Passes listed below are available to Users located in the U.S. who have activated a compatible SIM card issued by TextNow on or after August 14th, 2025:
Day Pass
For data usage of up to 2 Gigabytes (GB) of data per 24-hour period, download and upload speeds are available without set speed restriction, but remain subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
Once the 2 GB threshold is exceeded, the User’s data speeds will be reduced to a maximum of five hundred kilobits per second (500 kbps). Should the User exceed 2.5 GB within the same 24-hour period, speeds will be further reduced to a maximum of sixty-four kilobits per second (64 kbps). The Day Pass expires twenty-four (24) hours after activation and does not automatically renew.
Unlimited Weekly
For data usage of up to 5 Gigabytes (GB) of data per seven day period, download and upload speeds are available without set speed restriction, but remain subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
Once the User exceeds 5 GB of data usage, speeds will be reduced to a maximum of 500 kbps, and after usage exceeds six gigabytes (6 GB), speeds will be further reduced to a maximum of 64 kbps.
The Unlimited Weekly Pass automatically renews at the end of each seven-day billing cycle unless the User cancels the renewal as provided below.
Unlimited Monthly
For data usage of up to 20 Gigabytes (GB) of data per thirty day period, download and upload speeds are available without set speed restriction, but remain subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
After the User exceeds the 20 GB limit, speeds will be reduced to a maximum of 500 kbps, and after 22.5 GB of usage, speeds will be further reduced to a maximum of 64 kbps. The Unlimited Monthly Pass automatically renews at the end of each thirty-day billing cycle unless canceled.
Cancellation and Service Limitations:
Users may cancel any automatically renewing Data Pass at any time through their account settings. However, such cancellations will take effect only at the conclusion of the current billing cycle. No refunds, credits, or prorated reimbursements will be issued for cancellations made before the end of the cycle.
All Data Passes are subject to actual network conditions and capacity constraints. Download and upload speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Data speed reductions are enforced based on cumulative usage within the applicable billing period.
TextNow reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue any Data Pass or these supplemental terms at any time. Where feasible, TextNow will notify Users of material changes in advance, such as through in-app messaging or electronic communication.
2. Legacy Data Pass Terms:
The Data Passes listed below (“Legacy Data Passes”) are available to Users located in the U.S. who have activated a compatible SIM card issued by TextNow on or before August 13rd, 2025 (“Legacy Date”). Each Legacy Data Pass is a flexible data plan, which may be used to access the internet, subject to the limitations outlined below.
Hour Pass
For data usage of up to 300 Megabytes (MB) of data per period, download and upload speeds are available without speed restrictions, but are subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
Any subsequent usage of data above 300 Megabytes (MB) per period shall be limited to a speed of 500 kilobits per second (kbps).
Day Pass
For data usage of up to 2 Gigabytes (GB) of data per period, download and upload speeds are available without speed restrictions, but are subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
Any subsequent usage of data above 2 Gigabytes (GB) per period shall be limited to a speed of 500 kilobits per second (kbps).
Month Pass
For data usage of up to 10 Gigabytes (GB) of data per period, download and upload speeds are available without speed restrictions, but are subject to technical limitations and network availability within the applicable region.
After 10 Gigabytes (GB) of data usage, speeds shall be limited to a speed of 500 kilobits per second (kbps).
Any subsequent usage of data above 12 Gigabytes (GB) per period shall be limited to a speed of 64 kilobits per second (kbps).
Limitations:
The Legacy Data Passes are available to Users with an active TextNow SIM card issued by TextNow before the Legacy Date.
Legacy Data Pass speeds are not guaranteed and may vary depending on network availability and other factors.
TextNow reserves the right to update, modify, or discontinue any Legacy Data Passes or these supplemental terms at any time. Where feasible, TextNow will notify Users of material changes in advance, such as through in-app messaging or electronic communication.
