TextNow Receives Funding from the Government of Canada

WATERLOO, Ontario, October 2, 2018TextNow, the first ever full-service freemium wireless company, has recently signed a contribution agreement for up to $1 million in funding from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP).

This contribution will help support TextNow’s continued growth, including the hiring of engineers to develop a world-class media platform, delivering high-quality communications using the best available network.

“Hiring talented software engineers is hard in today’s competitive market, says Dave Giannini, TextNow’s Chief Architect. Team members will enjoy the ability to stay focused on a long-term project.”

TextNow is receiving this contribution based on its robust revenue growth of 379% and the number of employment opportunities they have created over the last five years. Also, TextNow has presented a strong business case and a technology roadmap to support its continued growth trajectory regarding revenue and employment for the next three to five years. With 16 million monthly active users, people are discovering TextNow every day, and the company continues to experience significant growth in revenue and demand.
