Inspiring Women+ Leadership: Karina

The month of March is Gender Equality Month and Women’s History Month, so, there’s no better time to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of the women in our lives. In this Q&A series, we're shining a light on some of the inspiring Women+ leadership figures working at TextNow. Be sure to catch the full series on our blog to read about the lessons they’ve learned throughout their journey to where they are today.

Karina Kudinova (She/Her) TextNow’s Senior Legal Counsel.

As TextNow’s Legal Counsil, Karina helps to guide colleagues in evaluating and navigating legal considerations and requirements, with the ultimate goal of our mission to democratize reliable phone service.

What is the most powerful lesson you’ve learned (professionally or personally)?
Procrastination is often rooted in fear (fear of rejection, failure, criticism, etc.). Asking yourself, "What am I afraid of?" and addressing the underlying fear can help unravel the mental blocks that lead to procrastination.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to take risks, lean into discomfort, and welcome opportunities that scare you.

What is your motivational mantra?

"How you do one thing is how you do everything."

What do you do to make yourself feel strong and empowered?

I feel strong and empowered when I shift my thinking from "I have to do this", to a gratitude mindset of "I get to do this."

I don’t know about you, but this resonates! Leaning into discomfort and taking risks can help you face your fears (whether they lead to procrastination or not) and broaden your experiences not only professionally but personally.

I wanted to thank Karina for all that she does and for being a role model here at TextNow! Stay tuned for our next Women+ leadership spotlight 👀
