Customer Spotlight: Fernando

Fernando, husband and father of three, is relatively new to the TextNow family, and so far he’s already taken notice of the many benefits that TextNow has to offer him and his family. In fact, he’s enjoyed the service so much that he took part in our Back-to-School contest and won free service for his daughter for her upcoming school year!

We asked some Q’s, and Fernando responded with some A’s. Here’s what he had to say about his TextNow experience so far!

‍TextNow: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your family?

Fernando: We’re a family with young kids — 2 teens and a preteen. They’re in two different schools and both my wife and I work, so we need a reliable way to communicate when we’re apart and trying to figure out schedules, activities, etc.

‍What do you like to do in your spare time?

‍Church, gym, visit with family and friends, watch movies

‍How long have you been a TextNow customer?

‍I’ve been with TextNow for just 2 months.

‍Why did you decide to join TextNow?

‍It’s the most affordable way to stay in touch with my daughter, knowing she won’t run out of texts or minutes like she would with another prepaid phone company. I got a great deal on a refurbished Motorola G3 with a year warranty and $20 credit.

‍Were you using another carrier before TextNow? If so, can we ask what kind of savings you’ve experienced since switching?

‍I was using another prepaid company and price-wise it was the same ($28 every 2 months vs TextNow $14 a month), but she was only getting about 600 texts and 600 minutes every two months, so she was running out of texts before it was time to renew. Now she has both calling and texting unlimited, plus unlimited data (even if it’s 2G).

‍What’s your favorite thing about TextNow?

‍My favorite thing about TextNow is knowing that my daughter won’t run out of messages or call time in an emergency. She took her phone to San Antonio TX, Orlando FL, and Austin TX and she was always able to contact me. Only in College Station TX did she have any connectivity issues.

‍How does TextNow fit into your life?

‍It’s awesome. We’re actually thinking of getting my sons switched as well once we can get a couple of new phones for them too!

‍What would you say to people who are considering trying TextNow but are on the fence?

‍Try it! There’s a money-back guarantee if you don’t like it, or if you don’t get a good signal in your area, so there’s very little risk, but you’ll really enjoy the savings if it does work in your area.

‍Have you tried any other texting apps, and if so how would you compare them to TextNow?

‍I’ve tried a few with my tablets but I didn’t really enjoy having to do surveys for credits. TextNow doesn’t require that, so I’ve enjoyed it so far.
